The Dako-Faka is a food-attractive trap for Bactrocera oleae that uses food-attractive as well humidity and color for optimal attraction off the insect and a pyrethroid as a insecticide agent.

It is compatible with 834/2007  law of E.U for Organic farming

During the development and applying of the trap it has become clear that it is a excellent way of controlling the pest in areas with low to very high populations and has been proven even worthy protector for edible olives cultivation.

Its easy applying way and simple needs thought the years should not ease the farmer as it needs good planning for the application time of the trap and careful applying to avoid miss placed or inactive traps or even ineffective applications due to wrong timing against Bactrocera oleae circle of life.

The Trap is consider of a 2 chambered polyethylene paper that contains liquid attractive substances in one and solid in the other , the papers outer side is enriched with a pyrethroid insecticide and has a fortified hanging spot .

The green color of the trap is also attractive and yellow color has not been used due it has been prove it attracts better the B.o but also more beneficial parasitoids and predators insects witch is definitely something we need to protect.

The use off pheromone has not yet proved to be beneficial in this kind off traps due to the confuse affect it has on male dacus(B.o).

The fact they attract from high range insects that are not bound to reach the desired target has prohibited us from using any of them.
